“A mustard seed … grows up and becomes greater than all herbs.” ~Mark 4:31-32
God declares several times in the Bible, “Hear, O Israel.” The most important prayer in the Jewish faith begins with those words in Deuteronomy 6:4 and is called the Shema, which means “Hear.”
How we need to hear God’s Word! Jesus explained the parable of the sower by saying, “The seed is the word of God” (Luke 8:11).
Plant that seed deep in your heart, your spirit, your mind, and your body. Let it take root and grow in your life, for it brings life, health, and everything you need.
That’s because God is in His Word. The Apostle John begins his gospel by saying, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:1,14).
God is in His Word. The Word can become flesh in you, and—amazingly—it can be just as powerful in you as it was in Jesus. When you have Jesus in your heart, you have the answer to every human need. The infinite possibilities that are with Him are available to you. For Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With God all things are possible.”
Like a tiny mustard seed that grows into a tree, let His Word germinate in you and bring forth fruit that pleases Him. When you plant a wheat seed in a field, you expect to get wheat. When you plant a corn kernel, you expect to get corn. When you plant the Word of God, you get God, for He is in His Word. He is the healer. He is love. He is salvation. He is all of these things.
So let the living Word of God be made flesh in you. Let Him fill your life and become your all in all today and always. May God bless you.
