One little letter can change everything

Life throws curveballs—betrayals, losses, disappointments. We can’t dodge every hurt, but we can decide what it does to us. The gap between “bitter” and “better” is just one letter, yet it can shape our whole story.

I – Internalize intrusive thoughts

Bitterness begins when we bottle up our pain. We replay the scene, rehearse every hurt, and let resentment tighten its grip. Before long, joy fades and even good moments lose their shine.

E – Externalize and express with hope

Better takes a different route. Instead of locking pain inside, we bring it to God, talk with trusted friends, or pray and journal it out. We let grace and light do their healing work—turning scars into lessons and strength.

“See to it that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many” – Hebrews 12:15

We can’t stop life’s storms, but we can choose how our hearts sail through them. Next time hurt shows up, choose E. Swap bitterness for better days and watch pain grow into purpose.

Every wound can be a womb for something new—if you choose better over bitter
