I have not met anyone who does not want to prosper. Lahat tayo gusto nating umasenso, whether sa ating mga relationships, sa ating physical well-being, as in we are living a healthy life, or most importantly sa maraming tao, financial prosperity. For many of us, to achieve our hopes and dreams we need financial prosperity, and it’s normal to think that way.

Does God favor a few to prosper?

The Bible has a not-so-secret passage that indicates how or who God blesses. It is found in Psalm 1:1-3. Nag-umpisa ang verse sa mga words na ito: “Blessed is the one…” or sabi sa Pinoy Version, “Bine-bless ang taong…” Ang passage na ito gives us three points na HINDI natin dapat gawin para umasenso tayo:

1. Do not walk in step with the wicked

The Bible tells us to not to listen to their counsel or mga advice. It will not be hard for them to cheat or take advantage of people dahil hindi naman sila naniniwala sa eternal consequence ng kanila mga ways. In simple words, God will not bless them.

2. Do not stand in the way that sinners take

Sinners or makasalanan. The Pinoy Version of the Bibles translate this as “…huwag sumusunod sa example ng makasalanan…” We should not imitate them. The sinner will be dishonest, mainggitin, at hindi nagisiss sa maling gawain. So ang sabi ng Bible, sa daan patungong prosperity, do not stand in the way sinners take.

3. Do not sit in the company of mockers

Ito yung mga tao na hindi na nga naniniwala sa Diyos kaya sila ay nagkakasala and then they mock God, His people, and His Word. Hindi sila naniniwala that God can bless him if he will follow His ways that is why they rely on their own intellect at skills. Disregarding God in the process.

The Bible has a not-so-secret passage that indicates how or who God blesses. It is found in Psalm 1:1-3.

1. Delight in the Law of the Lord.

2. Meditate on it day and night

He also studies it and learn from it. Araw at gabi siyang nagbubukas, nagbabasa, at nagmumuni-muni ng Salita ng Diyos. Ganyan ang mga taong bine-bless ni God

Verse 3 of Psalm 1 shows us the results of following the words of verse 2:

1. Yield its fruit in season

God’s blessings come at the right time. Mapapasigaw ka na lang bigla ng “Praise the Lord!” dahil God came through.

2. Leaves do not wither

The person who delights in the Law of the Lord will also show action or works that prove his love of the Lord. Remember that faith without action is dead (James 2:17) so a man who follows the word of the Lord provides evidence of his faith through the works that he does.

3. They prosper

Psalm 1:3 likens this person to a tree planted by streams of water, nakatanim sa tabi ng batis. His roots extend wide and deep. This is the person that the Lord prospers. The key is to follow what is said in Psalm 1:1-2.
