To be able to raise unleashed children, Ang mga magulang dapat ang pinaka-taimtim mag pray sa pamilya. This is one of the principles we discussed in our book entitled “Unleash the Highest Potential of Your Child”.
According to Matt Slick:
“Prayer is the practice of the presence of God.
It is the place where pride is abandoned, hope is lifted, and supplication is made. Prayer is the place of admitting our need, of adopting humility,
and claiming dependence upon God.”
How to raise Godly children? Here are four simple ways on how to teach your children about prayer:
1. Pray with your children every day.
Sinisigurado namin that we pray with our children as often as we can. Every morning, before they leave the house for school, we embrace our children and we pray for God’s protection over them – protection against any accident as they travel going to school, against any sickness, against any danger from the people around them, and protection from any temptation.
Every evening at around 10 pm, before we sleep, we gather together for a time of prayer. We thank God for everything that happened for the day and for all the answered prayers we received. We ask forgiveness for all the sins committed on that day. We pray for our children’s exams, seatwork, projects and plays/presentation for the next day. We pray for the leaders of our country. We pray for our helpers at home, who assisted in our day-to-day activities. Without them, life will be very hard. Our children also pray for all the seminars we are doing. They even prayed for this book you are reading.
2. Teach your children about God every day.
In our family, we see to it that we eat together. Every dinner, sabay-sabay kaming kumakain. Bago kami kumain, we pray.
When you think that they need somebody to talk to, please, kausapin natin sila. Bakit? Bakit kailangan silang kausapin?
• Time for encouragement – Hindi lahat ng araw ay maganda ang nangyayari sa school ng mga bata. So it’s time for you to encourage their spirit.
• Time of assurance – “Anak, kahit nagkamali ka, nandito kami ni Daddy/Mommy para sa iyo.”
Next week, we will give you two more tips on how to raise Godly children….
