Artificial Intelligence or AI is getting a lot of attention these days with the launch of ChatGPT, a chatbot that was trained to interact with a user in a conversational way. Following suit was a version from Google which had an epic failure and another from Microsoft.

For this article, I asked the AI in the Notion app that I use for planning and writing for Jacob’s Fountain on the topic of  Christian parenting in 2023. I will admit that it wrote a pretty decent article on the subject. You can check out what it wrote below.

As Christian parents, it is our responsibility to raise our children in a way that honors God and teaches them His ways. In 2023, this task has become even more challenging due to the ever-increasing secularization of our society. However, there are still ways in which we can effectively parent our children in a Christian manner.

Firstly, we must prioritize our children’s spiritual growth by making sure they have regular exposure to God’s Word. This can be achieved by reading the Bible together as a family, praying together, and attending church as a family. It is also important to model a strong faith in front of our children, so that they can see the importance of having a personal relationship with God.

Secondly, we must be intentional about teaching our children Christian values and morals. This includes teaching them about the importance of forgiveness, honesty, and generosity. It is also important to teach them about the sanctity of life and the value of every human being, regardless of their circumstances or background.

Thirdly, we must be aware of the challenges our children face in today’s society and equip them with the tools they need to navigate them. This may involve having difficult conversations with our children about cultural issues such as gender identity and sexuality. It may also involve teaching our children how to stand up for their faith in the face of opposition.

Finally, we must remember that our ultimate goal as Christian parents is to raise children who love and serve God. This means that we must be willing to surrender our own desires and plans for our children’s lives and instead seek God’s will for them. We must also be willing to give our children the freedom to make their own choices and mistakes, trusting that God will guide them along the way.

In conclusion, Christian parenting in 2023 requires us to be intentional, aware, and surrendered to God’s will. By prioritizing our children’s spiritual growth, teaching them Christian values, equipping them to navigate the challenges of our society, and seeking God’s will for their lives, we can raise children who love and serve God.

The article on Christian parenting that this app generated was very convincing and made a lot of sense. One thing sorely lacking about this AI-generated article, which was rather important, is the lack of scripture to justify what it is saying. It did not cite any reference in the Bible. Was that an oversight made by the developers or was it intentional? Whatever the circumstance AI is here and Christians need to adapt it for the glory of God.
