Every new year invites us to dream again—new goals, new habits, new resolve. For some, these resolutions take root and flourish. Yet others feel stuck before they even begin. The problem is not always a lack of desire or discipline. More often, it is the weight of what we are still carrying from the past.
Unforgiven hurts do not disappear just because the calendar changes. Unaddressed fears quietly undermine the future. Old narratives—I‘m not good enough, I always fail, this is just who I am—render even the best resolutions fragile and unattainable.
The truth is simple: what is not released will be repeated.
Perhaps “resolution” isn’t about pushing harder with new goals and aspirations, but a time for a “re-solution”—finding a wiser, freer way forward.
If our past does not bring growth, or purpose—let it go!
This is where dissolution becomes necessary. Dissolution is not denial of the past; it is the deliberate loosening of its grip. It means acknowledging what happened without granting it authority over who we are becoming. What we refuse to release will continue to define us.
Scripture reminds us:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past” —Isaiah 43:18–19
This year, don’t just resolve to add more. Have the courage to dissolve what no longer serves us—and walk forward unburdened.
If our past does not bring growth, or purpose—let it go!
Have a Blessed and Joy-filled 2026 ahead!
