🧠There is a thought that crosses a man’s mind when he goes through a certain age, most especially – between 50 and 60 years of age: “Hmmm, can I still attract someone, even a younger woman👩🎤? Do I still have it in me?” Well, guys, this isn’t something new, because this thought is as old as hell!! 😈
😯David was about 52 years old when he was chilling up on his roof deck, idly looking around, then lo and behold, he sees a beautiful woman bathing.🔭 (2 Sam.11:1-5). Maybe she was aptly named Bathsheba! David had her picked up.
David was known for his prowess as a warrior, who had experienced one victory after another after another. 👊 Apparently for a man with many victories up his sleeve, this one time, his guard was down! His failure to keep his guard up that moment would cost him many painful experiences: to lie, to plan the murder of Uriah, Bathsheba’s husband, to lose the first baby, then lose his other sons later on.
🙏Be careful, be on your guard. You can never be too smug about how strong you are! 💔 David encountered moral failure, 🖤 but when exposed by prophet Nathan, he DIDN’T DENY, he DIDN’T REACT IN ANGER, DIDN’T JUSTIFY, he DIDN’T MAKE EXCUSES, he REPENTED, 🙏 “…according to YOUR great compassion blot out my transgressions …wash away … cleanse me from my sin” (Ps.51:1,2).❤️
Be careful, be on your guard. You can never be too smug about how strong you are!
🙌GOD performed a radical heart surgery on David when he asked the LORD, the DIVINE PHYSICIAN to do so!!♥️ “Create in me a pure heart, O GOD, renew a steadfast spirit within me” (Ps.51:10). It’s never too late. GOD draws near you when you draw near HIM.
