Whose Land Is It Anyway? Part 3

Pro-Palestinian terror groups and their apologists continue to flog the rest of the world with their version of the history of the Holy Land, just as Yasser Arafat and the Palestinian Authority did in their time.

At one point, the Palestinian Authority even went so far as to fabricate “historic Palestinian national costumes” for men and women to go with their make-believe history and put these drawings up on their website. But they may have since chosen to take those pages down in the hopes that the laughter (of those who actually knew some history) would eventually die down.

All of their fictionalizing and wishful thinking comes to a screeching halt when it is confronted with a request for some actual facts. Hard evidence. Solid proof that this imaginary history once took place, that these costumes were actually worn, and that these mythical people actually did and do exist. But because they didn’t then, they do not now.

All it takes to rip their pretense to shreds is one simple quiz with 11 questions, brought to us by the cartoon series author and artist, Yaakov Kirschen:

Palestine Quiz

Ask any “Palestinian” apologist one or more of the above questions and instantly you will hear…

the sounds of silence.

Which, when one thinks about it, would be most appropriate as the national anthem of the mythical “ancient Palestinian people.”

On the other hand, what is the truth? What history is supported by the facts?

The truth lies on the side of the Israelis, whose ancestors have dwelt on the Promised Land for over 3,000 years, who have all of non-revisionist history to back them up, and whose claim is almost daily being reinforced by archaeologists.

Had you asked any of Jesus’ contemporaries where Palestine or the West Bank was, they would all have given you a blank look. “Palestine” was Israel then and “the West Bank” was the areas known to Jesus and His apostles as Judea and Samaria.

The Roman conqueror Hadrian renamed the country “Palestina” in 135 AD, or 100 years after Jesus to spite the Jews who had been causing him so much trouble because they refused to be dominated and their land occupied.

“The West Bank,” on the other hand, was always Judea and Samaria until Jordan illegally annexed the area after the 1948 Israeli War of Independence. Israel won Judea and Samaria back in the Six Day War of 1967 and they did so legally as well because the Jordanians had been the aggressors in their war against the Jews.

But the strongest case for the ownership of the Land comes from the One Who owns all creation:

25 “So this is what the Lord God says: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have compassion on the whole house of Israel, and I will be jealous for My holy name.

26 They will feel remorse for their disgrace and all the unfaithfulness they committed against Me, when they live securely in their land with no one to frighten them.

27 When I bring them back from the peoples and gather them from the countries of their enemies, I will demonstrate My holiness through them in the sight of many nations.

28 They will know that I am Yahweh their God when I regather them to their own land after having exiled them among the nations. I will leave none of them behind.

29 I will no longer hide My face from them, for I will pour out My Spirit on the house of Israel.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.” Ezekiel 39

That might just be the land title to beat all land titles!
