Where Does YOUR Faith Come From

Faith, that fuzzy, unscientific, illogical feeling that you get when you believe in Jesus. What’s up about it anyway?

For one thing, this is a requirement by Christ for all those who believe. Much about the Christian life is about faith. Faith that God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit is real. Faith that Jesus died for my sins and rose again after 3 days. Faith that Jesus really went up to heaven and now sits at the right hand of God. Faith that says, I should persevere in my walk with Him because He is coming very soon.

Romans 10:18 says it like this, “So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.” Faith, its not yours but a free gift from God. Hebrews 12:2 says, “We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith…

When we first believed in Jesus, it is because someone may have shared the Good News to us. You may have read about it, watched it on TV, or dreamt about it. Once the Good News is shared to us, faith is now planted in our heart. If we reject the Good News and do not hear about it again, then our faith stops growing. But if you accept it with your whole heart and then you read the Bible, or ask a fellow believer, then our faith is strengthened and grows. Much like a mustard seed, right?

And there are times when God Himself strengthens the faith He gave you. This can come from a person who God said, “Tell this to Edwin” and that person obeys and your faith is strengthened. If you read this blog and you feel that it told you something, then my friend, your faith has been strengthened. I was just used by God. This is Romans 10:18 in action.

So…where does YOUR faith come from? It can only come from one and only one Source. Let’s start moving mountains!
