The Year of the LORD’s Favor

Nov 25, 2010 | Uncategorized

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to listen to The 700 Club Asia’s host Peter Kairuz speak at the church anniversary celebration of the Come to Jesus Community Church in Lagro, Quezon City. Peter spoke on the year of the LORD’s favor.

Isaiah 61:1-2 says,”The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn…”

Peter said that the “year” being referred to here, which was declared by Isaiah a few centuries before Christ’s birth as also referred to by Jesus in Luke 4:18-20 when He spoke in the synagogue. Jesus claimed that this passage in scripture just came to pass s mentioned in v.21.

This “year” that Jesus referred has yet to end. It will end only when the day of judgement starts. And obviously it, the day of judgement, has not started yet.

Peter taught that this “year of the LORD’s favor” has not ended yet because Jesus wants to give everyone the opportunity to know Him so that when the day of judgement starts, many would have come to receive Him as their LORD and Savior already.

God really so loved the world that He wants to give everyone to have the opportunity to receive Him and be saved from this judgement that is forthcoming.

The year of the LORD’s favor promises and abundant life, health and safe. This is what God wants for us. This was His design from the very beginning.

Th day of vengeance would be very quick, just a day, but it will be terrible for those that will reject Jesus as their LORD and Saviour. For those of us who have already prayed to received Jesus in their lives, won’t thank Him again today? Its always worth it.

If you are reading and determine that you have not yet given Jesus a chance to enter your life. Won’t you do it now? He has withheld judgement up to this day. Maybe because of you. He’s waiting for you to give Him the chance to love you. It’s so easy, you just have to say this prayer in your heart:

“Lord Jesus, thank you for the opportunity to commit my life to you today. I repent of my sins and ask you to come into my life. I receive you as my LORD and Savior from this day on. Thank you for writing my name in Your book of life. This I ask in Jesus most precious name, AMEN!”

If you prayed that prayer, please let me know by sending me an email at [email protected]

God bless you!
