CBN was birthed in prayer, with men and women of God answering His call to take the airwaves back from the prince of the power of the air to proclaim the Gospel. And so on October 1, 1961, we began broadcasting with just one camera in a tiny studio.
Then in 1968, we built a new studio in Portsmouth—and we thought, “This is big!” Yet during the dedication, a CBN Board member, Harald Bredesen, delivered a word from God, saying, “These days shall seem small in light of where I am going to take you.”
Indeed, God has taken us around the globe. We have His directive: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel” (Mark 16:15).
We also have His promise: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage … for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
“Go … I am with you always.” MATTHEW 28:19-20
I remember a time in my ministry with CBN Asia in Manila when I thought budget issues would crush me. I cried out my complaint to the Lord, and over my head I heard very distinctly, “But I am with you!”
When God is with us, who can stand against us? Our weapons of warfare are not in the natural, they’re spiritual—and they’re strong.
Now more than ever, with our country and the world facing incredible challenges, we need to pray.
We need to seek what God wants us to do, then respond with strength and with courage.
God is asking, “Who will go for Us?” All we have to say is, “Here am I! Send me” (Isaiah 6:8).
He has commanded us, He has sent us, and He is with us. So we can face anything that comes our way as—together—you and I take the Gospel to the nations. God bless you!
