Review: iPhone 4S

Oct 18, 2012 | Uncategorized

I‘ve had my iPhone 4S for a couple of weeks now after processing my retention program with Smart, a Philippines based telco. You may be asking, why not wait for iPhone 5?

Reasons

  1. Its not here yet.
  2. It going to be more expensive than the iPhone 4S
  3. I needed a phone…now!

It would have been nice if I did have an iPhone 5 but I’d probably have an iPhone 6 or 7 in two years time. If you have been living in a cave, Apple updates its product line every year. I won’t be joining that cycle anytime soon. 😎

Ok, so what do I think of the iPhone 4S? I think its great! The design is so nice that I don’t want to hide it with a case. Now, the issue is protection. I’ve been on the look-out for a nice case that will allow the design of the phone to show through but still offer great protection.

Call quality is good and clear but obviously also depends on the quality of the signal that you receive. Ergonomics are swell. I can easily hold and operate the phone with one hand. Yes, I know, you can also do this with the 5 but I bet its a lot easier with the 4S.

There were some cricitisms about the 4S’ glass back but I’m not having problem. I think I like it better compared to the anodized aluminum in the iPhone 5, which, I should say chips easily.

I haven’t had any problem yet with iOS 6 except for the fact that the much-maligned Maps app is really dicey. The previous Google map that Apple pulled out of is alot better and way more complete. Other than that and some syncing issues with iTunes, I’m lovin’ it!

So here you go, my review of the Apple iPhone 4S. 😎
