In a few weeks, the United States will be celebrating its tradition of Thanksgiving. Turkey and cranberry will be served and hopefully remembering the things that they need to be thankful for.

We don’t celebrate the same thing here in the Philippines but I believe it is something we should imitate. There is so many things to be thankful to God for and we should celebrate that everyday. We do not need a special holiday just to be reminded to be thankful. In the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening. When you rise and when you sleep. Even when you eat or drink!

Sometimes we forget that all good things come from the Father. (James 1:17). This verse ends with these words, “…who does not change like shifting shadows.” Unlike us, God will always be there whether we thank Him or not. Sometimes we have to wait until thanksgiving is overflowing before we give back to God the glory. We don’t have to!

Start thanking God right now! He longs to hear our words of thanks and gratefulness. He will not tire. He will not faint. He will always be waiting for us to come to Him with all humility. God will always be expecting. God will always be expectant of our praise. He will not demand it nor require it. But if we love Him, we will give it to Him, for He alone deserves it.

Colossians 2:6-7 says, “so then, just as you have received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Even the great Apostle Paul, recognizes this important character. Being thankful will never go out of style. It will always be “in”. It will always be in vogue. Not only will people appreciate, but most importantly, God will.
