I had a great opportunity to hike with my family to Bomod-ok Falls in Ganduyan, (former name of Sagada which I would like to use to honor our indigenous people) Mountain Province!
Here’s one Leadership Secret it revealed!
1. Intentions without actions will not take you to a place of blessing!
I intended to be in Bomod-ok Falls, but without taking action, without taking the first step that will lead to more than two thousand steps, I would not be in Bomod-ok Falls.
I likened Bomod-ok Falls to a place of blessing, and getting there is definitely not easy. Anyone who wants to experience the falls had to descend a steep hill, and walk more than two kilometers.
But if you think about it, the walk could be one of the most enjoyable experiences you will have as you walk through picturesque sceneries. You will wonder about the tenacity of the Filipino as he builds and continues to build the terraces. You will appreciate his genius in engineering as you see water flowing and irrigating the rice terraces. You will wonder at the skill of their hands as the rice and other crops continue to flourish! You will walk through a village and hear their stories as you rest from a long walk.
You will definitely wonder about the how majestic God is!
But all of these you would not be able to experience and enjoy without taking the first step. A leader knows how crucial it is to have intentions and translate them into action! It would not matter how great your vision and mission is if you would not take that first step to get to your dream and make it a reality!
