Jerusalem is God’s Resting Place

Oct 5, 2011 | Uncategorized

…on earth that is. its pretty clear from these passages from Psalms 132:13-14,

“For the Lord has chosen Jerusalem; he has desired it for his home. This is my resting place forever, he said.I will live here, for this is the home I desired.”

God said Jerusalem is His resting place forever. What can any man do with those words? Fight it? One of the basic teachings and beliefs of Christianity is that God is sovereign. God’s decision is His alone and my faith says I should trust His decisions because they are for my good. Its is for everyone’s good, actually. Because I believe in the God of the Bible, I also believe those words, however people think it’s manipulated or whatsoever. I will hang on to those words.

I am writing this in relation to the recent issues surrounding the partition of the Promised Land into the state of Palestine and the state of Israel. How else should a Bible-believing Christian supposed to react in light of these words? Is the Word of God affected by time? I don’t think so. For those who think that this is the 21st century and that what the Bible says is not anymore applicable, they will be in for a difficult time.

As far as the Scriptures is concerned, Jerusalem is the LORD’s. God desired it and He has decided even before the foundation of the earth. Nothing can change this fact. Psalms 134:3 even says this: “May the Lord, who made heaven and earth, bless you from Jerusalem.”

God is the Maker of all things, what right have we to oppose Him? Jerusalem is HIS. If you are reading this and you do not believe in the God of the Jewish Scriptures and the Christian bible, then I would not be offended if you think so otherwise. But I’d you ARE a believer, say it and announce it, spread this word about Jerusalem and Israel–they are HIS.
