Everyday that we wake up is a magnificent blessing from the LORD. It is a blessing that is to be treasured. Think about this. God could have chosen to take you away, from your loved ones, from your possessions, from your career. Instead, HE gave you, and me, life.
That is why when we wake up, we need to have a sincere appreciation of God’s daily gift for us. God holds our lives. When HE allows us to live another day, it is because HE has a purpose for us. As I’ve heard this morning at church, we were made for God’s enjoyment. GOD made us to worship HIM. I believe that. How about you?
If every time you wake up, and seem to drag yourself away from your bed, you do not show appreciation for the life God has given you. Your life is too important to God for you to just drag yourself from bed. We should face each day not with gloom and doom but with joy and thanksgiving, knowing fully well that you are given another opportunity to glorify and worship God.
The bible says it like this: “So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Cor. 10:31. And it happens everyday. Whether you eat or drink the scriptures say.
Life is a precious gift from the LORD and it would be a shame to squander this gift. How do we squander the gift, you might ask? Neglect of God’s Word. Neglect of prayer. Neglect of helping one another. Neglect of yourself. Think of it this way. You are God’s creation. You were made to glorify God. God gave you life today. You need to be able to glorify God with the gift HE has given you today–your life.
When we do our work excellently and with honor and humility, then that is glorifying God. When we do not forget to talk to HIM and fellowshipping with HIM everyday, then that is also glorifying God. When we help others through the gifts HE has given us then that is glorifying HIM. When at the end of a long day, you thank HIM for what HE has done through you then that s glorifying HIM.
If we do things with GOD in our mind, we glorify HIM. Someone said, “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present.” I don’t know who really said it (I heard it from the movie, Kung Fu Panda) but I believe that is how God gives. It is always a present because everyday is full of surprises.
