Conjugal Spending (Part 2): How Married Couples Should Spend Money

Practice conjugal spending

Article 23_Conjugal Spending2In my previous article, I mentioned about conjugal spending. Ano nga ang conjugal spending?

Eto ‘yung ginagawa namin. No exceptions! So, kapag may bibilhin kami, conjugal spending. Nasa usapan ‘yan eh.  Kapag sinabi niyang, “No!” We don’t need to argue.

It’s a standard operating procedure just like in any corporation, ‘di ba? May mga desisyong kailangang dalawa ang nag de-decide, with two or three signatures before they come up with the expenses, right? Ganoon din sa bahay.  So, that’s what we do.  Because of that, marami akong napipigilang gastos na kung minsan, kung ako lang ang nag-isip, hindi good buy.  How many times na bumili kayo ng isang bagay na after a while, “Ay, mali pala!”  Kasi ikaw lang ang nag-iisip eh.  Iba pa rin yung at least may dalawang nag-iisip bago may bilhin.  Promise, you will save a lot of money!

– “Bakit?” – “Mambababae lang ako!”  Hindi pwede, it won’t happen! Why?  Mahirap mambabae ng walang budget! Ang tawag d’yan, check and balance! We are prone to commit mistakes. Unless may magbabantay. Because we are prone to commit mistakes. Kailangan may nagbabantay!  Kung minsan, magpasalamat tayo may security guards, may pulis, may traffic aides. Why?  Napipigilan tayong gumawa ng…kalokohan!  That’s the value ng may dalawang tumitingin sa buhay.

Kasi, up to now, hindi pa alam ng asawa nila ang totoong kinikita nila. Hindi kami nagbibiro! Marami nang umamin na ganyan! Kung hindi alam ni Misis ang kinikita ni Mister, that’s very dangerous! May kilala ba kayong ganyan?

Hindi namin ito inimbento. Batas na ang nagsabi nito, Conjugal Property. Pangalawa, Diyos din ang nagsabing “the two shall become one.” Now, if you want to violate the law of God and the law of man, nasa inyo ‘yan. Actually, its for your own good and protection. At the end of the day, you’re talking about your family. Its your own decision. Now, if what you’re doing will make your family life better, then continue. If not, stop it.

Do what you want to do with your money. Basta sa amin, we’ve been married for more than 21 years and we practice conjugal property and conjugal spending.

Here’s another problem kapag kanya-kanya kayong hawak ng pera. Isang araw, you could no longer contain it.  It will become a full-blown war!  Bakit? Kasi walang limit. Walang check and balance!

In my next article, I will add another tip for husband and wife….
