Book lovers (especially me) will be happy to know that Church Strengthening Ministry (CSM), one of the Philippines’ beloved Christian publishers, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. They are inviting everyone to celebrate with them at the 40th Manila International Book Fair and join them in a Book Expedition to help prepare for the destination that the Master Guide, Jesus, has set before them.
CSM will be launching at least 10 books written by Filipino authors during this event which will happen on September 11 to 15 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. These books hope to help readers (you and me) in love, relationships and Christian living.
Below are the titles worth checking out at MIBF:
- How Do I Know “The One”? by Nelson T. Dy
- I Married an Alien: The Quirks of a Cross-Cultural Marriage by Grace Gaston-Dousel
- The Other Cheek: What It Takes to Forgive by Grace D. Chong
- In the Triumph Song of Life: Turning Adversity to Strength by Grace Shangkuan Koo
- My Utang-Free Diary by Chinkee Tan (One of my personal faves)
- Take Heart, a unique collection of Letters of Faith, Hope, and Love from young writers for today’s youth.
Along with these books is a devotional for cat lovers called, And God Also Made a Cat: 90 Devotions for Cat People by Victoria Costina. Of course, no MIBF launch is complete without the Unli Rice series of devotionals by Pastor Joey Umali, Unli Rice: Araw-araw na Pagkaing Ispiritwal and Unllimited Rice: Everyday Food for the Soul now on their 7th edition.
There are also two books on ministry! First is How to Start a Senior Adults Ministry by Lizette Knight. I wonder who ar the senior adults, hmmm. The second is Preaching Nga Ba o Assuming Lang? by Armand Canoy.
All the books mentioned above will be priced at either 100 pesos each or two books for 100 pesos. We’ll have to be at MIBF to find out which is which. You may want to come early because if you visit during the first hour (10am to 11am) from September 11-13, there is an additional 10% discount. Woohoo!
Let’s keep the love of reading actual, physical books alive and visit the CSM booth at booth nos. 79-84, 103-105 between aisles P and Q at the 40th Manila International Book Fair!
