Are You Afraid of the End Times?

Aug 30, 2011 | Uncategorized

For me, the answer is both a yes and a no.

YES, because no one is really sure of what will happen in the future. Hollywood has got us all fearful of what will happen tomorrow, think, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow, The Core, The Day the Earth Stood Still, War of the Worlds, Monsters and Aliens, Independence Day and a whole lot more. I admit, the movie 2012 got into me. It was just so realistically presented. Thank special effects for that. I think a lot of people, whether they admit it or not, are wondering what will REALLY happen. The future is uncertain for many people.

I also answer NO, because if we have relationship with Jesus then He has got us all covered. Another reason that I say this is when you look at the prophetic books of the Bible such as Isaiah, Ezekiel, Daniel in the Old Testament and the Book of Revelation in the New Testament with a different set of eyes and a different perspective.

You see, these books are also promises–to Israel and to those who will endure to the end. As I write this, my daily Bible reading schedule is going through the books of Isaiah and Revelation at the same time. In Isaiah there is a lot of references to the salvation of the nation of Israel from their enemies. If you look at what is happening in Israel today, you will see that these references are slowly being fulfilled.

When we commit our lives to Jesus, all these prophecies that many interpret as catastrophes slowly become events that will give us hope. The future of the wicked is really bleak, but those who have a living relationship with Jesus, the book of Revelations say that we are secure in the love of the Father. Even if we feel afraid, Jesus, who is portrayed as a conquering king, is also shown as the Lamb of God. What does that tell us? Jesus will take care of His. His children. His flock.

Its enough comfort for me.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: I am no expert in biblical prophecy. The article above is my own personal interpretation of what I am reading and from the teachings of others. Write me a comment below to let me know what you think. God bless you all!
